Twilio (Text Messaging Service) Charges Explained

You're using the "Twilio" texting service when texting through the Warrior Cloud system.
You can't hook your cell phone carriers or Google Voice to any software; carriers won't allow it.
That's because carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile, etc. offer unlimited texting plans knowing that the average person will not exceed 20-50 texts daily. If they allowed you to hook up your cell phone to a system like Warrior Cloud, you could quickly send 10,000+ text messages daily and put them out of business.
Here is what Twilio Charges per text message. Keep in mind one text message is 160 characters. Each Emoji counts as one text message.
If you have a text message like this, for example (see below): It's a total of 433 characters, and the two emojis each count as one text.
The Twilio Segment calculator shows this one text message would count as 7 text messages. So it can add up really fast to send more than 160 characters or to use any emojis. I have found that you can send :) in place of a 🙂 and not get charged extra.
